What is Air Wash?
Air wash is an affect achieved through an extra inlet of air. This can
be pre-heated (as in the diagram of the Hunter CB5) (Green Arrows) or
cold air. The air is directed due to it's temperature difference down
the glass forming a 'shield' over the glass from deposites.
What is 'Clean Burn' or 'Turbo Burn'?
'Clean Burn' is achieved through either high firebox temperatures(as in the diagram of the CB5). The fire box is clad completely with vermiculite board which reflects and contains the heat making the solid part of the fuel and gaseous part combust. Or there an extra inlet of air jetted across the fuel source catching the combustable gases that would otherwise be wasted. This can be seen at the back of stoves as a line of small dots.
